The field that deals with the study of electricity, energy, electronics, and electromagnetism is known as Electrical Engineering. The term electricity and its application have a vital role in today’s modern world. It contributes mainly to the area of the power sector which is the backbone of the country.
The Department of Electrical Engineering at YRS Polytechnic College is one of the oldest departments of this college. Additionally, it is one of the Best Polytechnic Colleges to offer the most advanced course in the field of electrical engineering, in all over India, Nepal and other countries. The department offers 3-year Polytechnic Diploma in Electrical Engineering and possesses well-equipped laboratories, highly experienced & qualified faculty and staff who work with packed devotion and enthusiasm. Moreover, it keeps up with the ever-varying challenges of modern industry and is firm in its commitments to generate erudite and conscientious. We, at YRSPC, aim at providing the highly skilled manpower to the nation by teaching the most advanced level of knowledge in Electrical Engineering. The Diploma Engineers from our college have proved their excellence in the field of engineering & technology in India as well as abroad. The students are being exposed to highly sophisticated and practical oriented visits to various types of industries and power stations. Our students have also executed a number of projects in the field of electrical engineering. The common subjects of this course include Electrical Machines, Embedded System, Elements of Electrical Engineering, Transmission and Distribution, Power, Electrical Installation, Electronics, Signal Processing, Control Systems, and Telecommunications, Microwaves, VLSI, and RF etc. The Diploma holders can have good job opportunities in the electrical engineering industry and also an option of higher education such as B.E, M.E., PhD, etc.

Three Academic Years Comprising of Six Semesters

The candidates who have passed their Matriculation or equivalent with Mathematics, Science and English as compulsory subjects from a recognized board are eligible to apply.

The students aspiring admission to the second year of Diploma in Electrical Engineering must possess any one of the following:

• One/two-year ITI certification after matriculation
• 10+2 examination in either of the Medical/Non-Medical/Vocational streams
• Two years certificate course from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal
• Two years certificate course in Skilled Technician (Machinist), Skilled Technician (Machine Maintenance) & Quality Insurance Inspector from R & D centre Bicycle and Sewing Machine, Ludhiana
